Fr Jacob Siemens

The Rev. Dr James Siemens (Father Jacob) is a priest of the Archdiocese of Orthodox Churches of Russian Tradition in Western Europe, an active academic, and Orthodox Christian Chaplain at Cardiff University. He is also the rector of St Theodore and St Teilo Orthodox Church in Cardiff, Wales, a city he has, together with his wife and eight children, called home since 2005. Before this, he lived and served in Manchester, England, Saskatchewan, Canada, and St Kitts in the West Indies. He studied at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada, McGill University in Montreal, and finally the University of Wales, where he undertook his doctorate and, later, a post-doctorate, both in patristics. His is the author of a monograph on Theodore of Tarsus, together with various journal papers, book chapters, and encyclopaedia entries, as well as the co-editor of a major new volume on Eastern Christian philosophy. He was elected as a fellow of the Royal Historical Society in 2012.
